George W. Wareham, 76, of Linesville, died Wednesday morning at Meadville City Hospital where he had been a patient for 16 days.
Born near Sandy Lake, he operated a farm near Espyville and worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as road supervisor for 24 years. He moved to Linesville in 1941 and 1942. Was named Linesville Borough street commissioner. He served in that capacity until November, 1953.
He was a member of the Linesville Baptist Church and the board of deacons, Linesville Grange, State Police Camp of Erie and Crawford County No. 38.
He is survived by his widow, Linnie Wing Wareham; seven stepchildren; several step-grandchildren; a brother James of Sandy Lake and four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Smith, Mercer; Mrs. Pearl Lyons, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Elizabeth Donahue, Cleveland, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Maryott Funeral Home, Linesville, where services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Linesville Cemetery.
