Funeral services in memory of George F. Martin, one of our most respected citizens of South Shenango Township, were held Saturday afternoon at the home in the presence of a large number of friends.
Services were conducted by Rev. Reis, Pastor of M.E. church, assisted by Rev. Hazlett, of Hartstown.
The many beautiful and elaborate floral tributes attested to the esteem in which Mr. Martin was held.
He was born in S.S. Twp. on Dec. 15, 1868. Died at Spencer Hospital on Jan. 16, 1930.
He was united in marriage to Nannie Findley on Sept. 5, 1899. To them were born two sons, Howard and Clarke.
He was noted for his cheerful disposition and his remarkable ability to see good in others. He was ever ready to lend a helping hand in time of trouble.
He was a member of Westford I.O.O.F., Police Camp, North Shenango Grange, Pine Lodge and Director of the D.C.S.
Besides his wife and two sons, two grand-daughters and two brothers J.A. of Linesville, and Fred, of Millersburg, O., survive him as well as a host of friends who will mourn his loss.
The Masons took charge of the services at the grave.
Interment was made in Linesville cemetery, six of his neighbors acting as bearers.
