    Died 4 Jul 1930  Conneaut Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, USA Find all individuals with events at this location
    • cause of death: angina pectoris
    • from the July 9, 1930 issue of the Linesville Herald:
      Caroline R. Garwood, daughter of James and Clarissa Garwood, was born November 21, 1864 on a farm in Pine Township, one and one-half miles west of Linesville, Penn'a. She passed away about 10;30 a.m., July 4, 1930, at the home of her step-sister, Mrs. John R. Dennis, in which home she had been visiting.
      On April 29, 1885, she was married to Alvirus J. Baldwin, also of Pine township, to this union three childen were born: Homer E., Dessa, Mrs. William McArel; and Alice, Mrs. John Groves; all of Struthers, Ohio.
      She is survived by the three children, the husband, a brother, Ira C. Garwood, of Conneautville, a step-sister, Mrs. John R. Dennis, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
      A brother and a sister preceded her in death many years ago: Alton, when but a boy, and Rilla, just fifty years ago on the 4th of July, a girl of 19 years.
      "Carlie," as she was familiarly called by all who knew her and loved her, was a member and active worker of the Methodist Episcopal church since girlhood. She enjoyed the associations of her church and loved the service of the church of her Lord and Master. She was a devoted Christian wife and mother and enjoyed giving herself in the service of those whom she loved. She was alays kind, sympathetic, and cheerful, and made friends wherever she went.
      Failing health compelled her to curtail her more strenuous duties and to conserve her own strength, which she felt it a duty to do for the sake of her family.
      Though ailing for some time, her health was not considered to be in a serious condition, and her death came as a severe shock to all of her family and her many friends, who will miss her genial presence and her kindly ministrations.
      She is not here, but gone above,
      Dear memories remain,
      Of faithful ministries of love;
      As of a sweet refrain.
      The master came and whispered low,
      My child, thy race is run;
      And while tis hard to see her go
      Dear lord, "Thy will be done."
      CARD OF THANKS
      We wish to express our appreciate to our friends and neighbors for their kindness and sympathy during the illness and death of our beloved wife, mother and sister.
