      Blanche Marie Weir
      Blanche Marie Weir, 78, RD 3, Linesville, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 1988, at her home following a sudden illness.
      Mrs. Weir was born in Marianna, Nov. 18, 1909, a daughter of Samuel W. and Florence Fortney Vance. She married Charles Weir Nov. 27, 1930. He preceded her in death Sept. 26, 1951.
      She had been employed for 30 years at Woodard's Golden Dawn and Bakers Market, both in Linesville. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Washington and attended Linesville United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Help One Another Club, Conneaut Township. She had been the assessor in Pine Township for 25 years.
      Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Florence) Gillette and Mrs. Rudy (Mary Elizabeth) Baker, both of Linesville; and Mrs. Carlton (Sarah) Blood, Chesterland, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Kestrick, Washington; and Mrs. Alberta Bungard, Parden City, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd O. Vance; and one sister, Ethel Jean McMurray.
      There are no calling hours.
      Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family Tuesday at William H. Houghton Funeral Home, Linesville, with the Rev. Art Barnes of Linesville First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Linesvile Cemetery. The family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Linesville Community Library.

      Ceremony uniting Miss Blanche Marie Vance, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.W. Vance, Washington, Pa., to Charles C. Weir, of Linesville, Pa., son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Weir, was held at 10 p.m. November 27, 1930, at the bride's home. The service was read by Rev. B. Frank Taber, attending the couple were Miss Goldie Vance and Harvey Knestrick. The bride wore a gown of blue crepe. The house was decorated with white carnations and yellow chrysanthemums and pompons.
